A few months back I got the privilege to help a good friend Melinda throw a baby shower/ crafty get together. Our objective was for everyone create a hand decorated onesie/bib. This craft was so much fun and I'd love to do it again. You don't even have to be crafty to use the stencils.

Onesie reads Jesus is my hero. How adorable.

Most were made with freezer paper stencils I cut with my Silhouette.

Since my time is limited nowadays I decided to post some pictures and call it a day. I have ton's to blog about, but no time to blog. Funny how that works. :-)

Only 44 more days until baby arrives. Maybe even sooner. Can you say panic time...

Here is where I currently stand:

How far along? 33 Weeks

Total weight gain: Not telling... ;-)

Maternity clothes? I'm in maternity pants and shirts 100% of the time now. I'm still attempting to wear non-maternity sweaters, but they are starting to get a little short on the bottom. Layering helps hide the bump.

Stretch marks? Just now starting to appear even though I lather up on the lotion stuff.

Sleep: I'm waking up a lot during the night - mainly to pee. I find myself more comfortable sleeping on the couch which makes Scott happy.

Best moment this week: Realizing she is only a month and a half away.

Movement: All the time!!!

Food cravings: Apples

Labor Signs: Nope

Belly Button in or out? Still in

What I miss: Sleeping through the night. :-(

My current to do list includes buying a car seat and packing for the hospital stay. Scott and I have tons of last minute to do's ( like find a pediatrician). Hopefully she doesn't decide to come mid January.

Wall color...

Last week the nursery was painted and crib put together. The room is actually starting to look like a nursery rather than a catch all. Loving the progress. Tomorrow I will be 24 weeks pregnant. The little one has started to become more acrobatic. I feel her moving all the time. She has actually started moving during Zumba... she going to have plenty on rhythm!

We celebrated our anniversary and had our second ultrasound to find out if Elliana is still a girl. She is very much still a girl and getting bigger everyday. Mom bought us a baby cake to celebrate.

Can't wait to start decorating!

Bleach Tees

OMG this craft was super easy as long as you don't go bleach crazy (Mary Ahem). Here are some of the ones we did with the youth girls last week. Note to self do not attempt to bleach both sides... the bleach will soak through. :-(

Materials needed

Squirt bottle on mist setting

Stencil - I used vinyl cutouts for mine

paper bags - this is placed inside the shirt to prevent bleach soaking through to the back.

I did not dilute the bleach and less is definately more. This is an outside craft for sure. Preferably while the little ones are far far away. I've linked a couple sites below for more instructions.

18 weeks and some change...

So here i am. 18 weeks pregnant and starting to get over my horrible smell/hunger induced nausea. I couldn't be near the boys after they took a shower because the smell of their body wash would make my tummy turn. Luckily most of that has past. Last week we had our big ultrasound and had the opportunity to see a glimpse of our little one. Oh what fun, I could have stayed and watched all day long. Since the baby wasn't shy at all the tech was able to tell that it was a girl. Our very own little baby girl to spoil and love.

I've taken a slight vacation from the cardio aerobic scene and have replaced it with walking. Walking is a lot harder than it sounds. Approximately two miles a day is what I've managed to stick with. I'm still a faithful Zumba goer and with a couple modifications I plan on sticking with it until my feet fall off. ;-) The nursery is almost cleared and the office is officially Cesar's room with a computer in it. I have yet to buy anything baby related and it is driving me insane. Soon I will have to break down and buy some maternity wardrobe because that little hair tie is no longer keeping my pants buckled. My doctor has suggested that I only gain 25 pounds. Unfortunately in the first 18 I've gained almost 10lbs. Hopefully I can keep the weight gain to a minimum. Give me a break I eat fruit and veggies and work out 30-1hr 30min each day. Looking forward to all the changes to come!

It's official!!! We are having a girl. I can't wait to buy something girlie. We don't have a full name picked out yet but we know her first name will be Elliana. Her name in Hebrew means "God answered" and even though it took a couple years he did indeed answer our prayers. We are abundantly blessed beyond measure! Pics to follow.

It's official this girl has a thing inside of her that is draining every last drop of energy. I'm hungry, but nothing I eat sounds good. I sleep and sleep days and days on end. Still in disbelief about the whole thing.

Currently 9 weeks and some change. I've begun tearing down my craft room *tear* to make room for baby. This past week we took a quick trip for the fourth to NM. I love the scenery I could take pictures all day long. I've been so beyond blessed this past year and continue to be amazed at what all he (God) has changed in our family.

Scott had one simple request for a team name for Falls Creek. After finding a name I asked about shirts. Whats a team without matching shirts? After some convincing ( all the other teams are doing it) he let me get some what crafty and come up with a simple design. Lets just say the iron on vinyl is simply awesome and so easy Scott was able to do it. I let him take full credit for the shirts ( even though all he did was hold the iron). ;-)

This week I have been working on making flip flops for our youth girls and boy has it been time consuming. Each pair take around an hour to complete. I'm so happy I didn't have to do them by myself. Take a look at the process...

Material needed:

Random Fabric

Flip Flops

Pinking Shears

Ribbon

Lots of time!

16 - 1x8 inch strips will cover one side of one flip flop as seen below. Start from one end and make your way around. Here I alternated black and color to mix it up. Knot your fabric twice with the knot facing outward.Make sure to apply no fray to your ribbon or simply apply a little heat to the ends to keep from fraying.

64 strips of fabric and ribbon was used in the creation of one pair... I told you it was time consuming!

Looks like the hard work paid off.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Ephesians 4:7 Unfortunately I wasn't able to complete my gifts, maybe next year I'll plan a little more ahead. These bows can be placed in your hair or even used as a pin. Two measuring tapes will make 5 bows. Oh how I've missed making stuff. ;-)

This past weekend I had the pleasure of taking some fun maternity photos for good friend from high school. Even though I'm very much an amateur when it comes to taking photos I'm hoping practice will help me continue to get better.That's the plan.

In the picture below I had an idea to turn the pic black and white and highlight the blocks. I did this in photoshop by making a duplicate layer and erasing the area I wanted in color.You can also find free apps which do the same thing and it's way easier. I love the way it turned out.

It was a lovely day to take photos of a lovely friend.

What have I been doing lately... taking pictures of course!!!Scott recently bought me a book to help me learn how to use my new camera. As you can tell it's still a work in progress. I do enjoy when I see improvement...The second candy pic is exactly what I wanted to accomplish.The first pic above shows all the candies in focus except the first two, not as visually pleasing. Either way this beginner was impressed.

So much to learn, so many things to photograph.

All this creative inspiration gets me in the mood to craft... The new thing in crafty world is accordion circle/flowers. I had some vintage valentine paper that I thought would be fun to play with and ended up with these . Cute huh?

After seeing the felt garland on etsy I decided to pull out my own stash of felt ( that just happened to already be cut in circles) and start sewing. This cute garland was super easy to make !!!

Since I was confined to the house today I decided to decorate for Valentine's. I told myself that I need to use what and have and not be tempted to buy cute decorations that I see a Target or Hobby Lobby. So in my attempt to be frugal I grabbed some pink and red felt a package of doilies and went to town. That's all it took... I hung a simple banner and sporadically placed hearts around the house. It feels like love in the air. The greatest part is I didn't have to spend any money.

The coolest cupcake & candy shop I've ever seen. They even have party rooms that are decorated in crisp black and white and another in vintage circus.

The name Pinkitzel is a play on two words, pink and kitzel— which means tickle in Yiddish. So Pinkitzel means tickled pink. How cute is that???

I finally mustered up the courage to apply vinyl to my walls. I wanted something small to start out so I opted for a flourish or two to add along with my frames. It was so easy and now I want to apply it everywhere.

Meers "Burger Heaven"

A couple weeks ago we made our annual trip to Meers. The main reason why anybody visits Meers Oklahoma is for the famous Meers restaurant. Even though the wait was around an hour to get seated it was still well worth it.On the menu you will find the Seismic Meersburger. This huge burger could easily feed a family of four if you ask me. The burgers,cobbler and homemade ice cream are YUM-O!!!

Last month we celebrated our third anniversary!!!Hip Hip Hooray!!! Scott had these beautiful flowers sent to my job, they where the talk of the office. I asked him if he picked this particular bunch because they were similar to my wedding bouquet and he said "no". Here I thought he actually put time and effort to match the flowers to my wedding bouquet. Silly me.

Our pumpkin, carved by me of course.I let Scott help trace out the design. He is not allowed to carve for the sake of the pumpkin.

The Rak is Back

Some of you may remember my Rak-a-day I did last year. I attempted to do seven random acts of kindness in the month of September. Sounds simple right, but it took some real effort. This year I plan on doing the same. I'm a little behind schedule, but still off to a good start. Let the giving begin!!!

Flowers clips Tutorial

Super quick tutorial on flowers clips...

Materials needed:

Flowers

Center embellishment - buttons, brads,jewels... ( I used covered brads in the flowers below)

Hot glue gun

Felt or ribbon

First take apart your flower and remove center pieces.

Next sew your layers together or attach brad to hold layers.

Lastly use felt to attach your clip to the back of your flower.

Presto !!! a super cute hair clip that you can say "I made it myself".

Fabric & Subway Art... my current loves

I am loving fabric right now and even though I don't own a sewing machine I can still use it. There are millions of things you can do with fabric that doesn't involve a machine, like the rosettes below.

I like that these flowers can add some punch to a plain shirt or a little flair to your hair. Super simple to make all you need is strips of fabric, a glue gun and some patience.

And the last thing I'm loving right now is Subway Art. It's big right now in the DIY crafty world . I thought about making my own , but decided against it because knowing me I would finish it and throw it away because of a crooked word . I h-a-t-e being a perfectionists. All the above items can be purchased on Etsy.com. I usually provide a link,but didn't do my homework this time. Hopefully this week I'll show off the items I've been making for the up coming craft fair. See you soon.;-)

Happy Dance

This week I've had many chances to do my happy dance. Full out uncontrolled happiness consumed me when I heard the position I interviewed for was mine for the taking. I had been waiting months for a position to come my way , but one to many times that denial email would rear its ugly head. I had become disappointed and entirely confused. I wanted so bad just to call it quits and have a job find me instead of the other way around. But each time Scott would pick me up by my boot straps and help me submit resumes.finally my job search has ended!!! Dream job (close enough) here I come.

I have been getting a lot of use out of my new digital cutter. Just last week I created a birthday sign, label for my ribbon stash and added a cute saying and tooth paste image to Cesar's toiletry bag. Call me crazy but this machine rocks. I've already ordered the iron-on vinyl to customize shirts and anything else made of fabric. My next project is to complete a wedding album. Scrapbook pictures coming soon!!!

A few days ago my newest love arrived. My digital cutter does everything but clean the kitchen ( which reminds me I think the sink is a bit full). I cut the above image out of cardstock with no trouble at all. The silhouette also cuts vinyl and other forms of media. I can customize shirts and add flair to walls with the adhesive vinyl. My scrapbooks will now be full of intricate designs that only a machine can manufacture. It has been love at first cut !!!

This week I've been knee deep in bows getting ready for my very own mini craft sale benefiting United Way of OKC. Every year my employer finds different ways to raise money for this cause and why not put my abilities to good use and sell stuff I make. I plan on selling hair bow holders, hair bows, fridge magnets, ribbon covered notepads and anything else I can think of. Time to get back to work I have a few more things to make for the sale. I finally hung up the fabric hoops that have been laying on my floor for the past couple of months. I decided only to do three for now and the colors don't really match, but it fits my crafty room perfectly. I really enjoy black and white together and recently the color orange has been growing on me ( Don't tell Scott he is not an orange fan). My other fave go to color is lime green. Our vacation was full of wonderful views and even some time spent with wonderful people. We had the great time... At moments we couldn't believe our eyes the scenery was so picture perfect.our journey first began in New Mexico were three of us took an amazing balloon ride at sunrise ( this would be my second time) and the next day we were off to Flagstaff where are Chalet awaits.(Flagstaff Chalet pictured below)

It was home away from home for a couple of days. Our 11 person army was not the easiest to feed, but we managed with chef Mitzi and her assistant Angela. From Flagstaff we drove to the majestic Grand Canyon. I was very surprised that we weren't able to see from far away. It hide from us like a well kept secret till the very end.

Diy Napkin Rings

It's been a while since I posted a tutorial so here you go easy peasy napkin rings

Materials Used:

Ribbon

Buttons

Glue gun

Needle and thread

I cut my ribbon to 6 1/2 length to accommodate my napkin thickness note you can make it smaller or larger depending on your napkin being used

Then glue down one end 1/4 inch folded onto itself

Sew buttons on the end that is folded over and then glue folded edge over the other end. Wallah!!! napkin rings in under 15 minutes

I have a friend who is a fabulous bow maker and that's just not my thing. I love ribbon to death but don't see myself making bows. I just don't make bows!!! That's what I thought until my supervisor coaxed me into making a few for her teenage daughter. I actually enjoyed making them, but plan on leaving the bow making to the experts for now. Here they are in all their glory

My first ladies luncheon was very inspiring. The women involved poured all their talents into making this luncheon a success. I had the opportunity to help out and even decorate my own table!!!Which for those of you who know me is like the highlight of my week or even month. Take a peak

My color scheme included a variety of black and white patterns accented with yellow. The outcome was a beautiful fresh tablescape that anyone would love to sit at. The materials used included six pieces of scrapbook paper, napkins in black and white, one roll of ribbon, bandanna and some buttons . The ribbon napkin rings were an easy task for any one equipped with a glue gun and some thread.

These are just a few of the tables that were showcased at the luncheon.

"100th Post "and some hail...

I've been wondering what i would post about for my 100th post, maybe something crafty or my upcoming tablescape ideas... Never did I think I was going to post about Hail. Yes I said HAIL H-a-i-l Wikipedia defines it as a form of solid precipitation which consists of balls or irregular lumps of ice, that are individually called hail stones. I attempted to break one of these hail stones by throwing it at the concrete , but it wouldn't break at all!!! It finally broke apart after a couple of tries. Luckily neither of us were home and were both a safe distance from the major storm. Just last week one of my clients ( who owns a christian roofing company) had mentioned that roofing jobs were few and far between and he had been praying for hail... God answered.

The lawn looks like miniature meteorites came crashing down on it. Scott has his own putting green outside!!!

I think I'm getting better at editing the HTML and hoping to learn how to create a favicon next (Its the little image that sits left of the URL) . I'm a nerd , I know. 10. I absolutely hate needles!!!

After coming across this lovely pattern I knew I had to make some for Easter. They were super easy to make. Follow the pattern( which can be found through the link below) and piece it together. Start off by making french knots forthe eyes and nose and finish by blanket stitching around the body. I have a few more super adorable peeps to make... Have a wonderful day!

Easy Peasy Art

I first fell in love with with embroidery hoop art when walking into Pottery Barn kids ( I only go to look for inspiration ;-) ) . How neat !!! All you need is coordinating fabric and a few hoops. You could instantly transform a craft room or nursery without spending a fortune. If you don't have fabric laying around try fabric napkins. I've seen some cute patterns at Target and Pier one that I just my try out.

Name Frames

Last Christmas I finally completed two name frames that I had been working on for almost an entire year. I didn't realize how long it would take to photograph letters. I was able to borrow some letters from an online group that shares these type of photos. Another hard thing to find was the frame itself. I searched everywhere and couldn't find a five opening frame so I opted for the floating frames at Target. They perfectly fit 5 4x6 photos with a nice one inch border. I used a small piece of double sided tape to keep the photos from moving between the two pieces of glass. Wish I would have made one for myself ;-) ... I'll put it on my list of to do's.

This past weekend I had a mini family reunion with my cousins, who I haven't seen in years. It was wonderful !!!! I also was able to meet Angelina ( the one in the checkered skirt ) for the first time. We spent the evening catching up on life and eating good food. The girls allowed me to take a few pictures of them while playing with their slinky. I couldn't resist making a page out of these photos. The layout is really simple and took me under 10-15 minutes to put together. All you need is three coordinating patterns, cardstock ,rub-on words, assorted buttons and a couple hand cut felt flowers . I call it Princess squared.

Chicago Chic Bedroom

We waited two months for our bedroom set and it finally arrived last week!!! Our theme is Chicago cubs... This doesn't mean that our room is red and blue with cubs plastered everywhere but it is very much apparent that Scott is a cubs fan . The room is tastefully adorned with photos taken during our last visit to Chicago( skyline,stadium,Navy Pier etc... ). The stadium canvas wall art above the bed was purchased at Target. All photos were printed in black and white and framed in floating frames. I stayed with a very neutral palette which gives the room a relaxing feel. I love the way it turned out.

Build-a-Bear

Last Monday I spent the day with my good friend Tina and favorite brother (only brother) at the build-a bear-workshop. Cesar was hesitant to join in on the bear making, but gave it his seal of approval after finding out he could accessorize it to look just like him. It was pretty neat going through the process of stuffing and creating a bear from scratch . We named our creation Rockster and Cesar was pleasantly surprised at how cool he looked in his converse shoes, scarf and vest. It was a blast and after accessorizing cost us a small fortune.

Note: The hello kitty panties in the background are not Rocksters just to clarify ;-)

These cuties just arrived and they are too cute. I plan on using them as as mini business cards for my etsy shop. I have yet to place anything in my shop, but when I do I will have these ready to go. I heart Moo. These mini cards are so versatile they can be used as tags, bookmarks, photo art and much more. Moo also sells personalized sticker books and business cards along with the mini cards.

Thunder Love

Last week during the second winter storm Scott had a brilliant idea to risk driving downtown and go to a Thunder game. I was hesitant because I knew their was a possibility that we would a) get stuck b) get in a wreck c) freeze our bottoms off while walking a half mile in the snow or d) all of the above. Luckily only one of these things happened that night. Being 3 of the 10,000 thousand or so crazy okies attending the game that night we were able to trade in our nose bleed seats with ones that were way closer to the excitement. During the game I let Scott take a few photos and he took a picture of Kevin Durant's thigh... You don't believe me? Take a look for yourself.

All night I was super annoyed that this fan kept on popping up right before I snapped a picture. I deleted tons with him in the way but decided to keep this one because it shows his Thunder Love. Time for bed. TTFN

I think it's time to quit my job and become a bow maker full-time. Just kidding Mom, but I have been on a roll making these adorable bows. The top two are made out of leftover polka dot scrap paper and the bottom three are made out of magazines. I stole a few pages out of Scott's old Sooner Illustrated to make the last ones. Now I have bows to go along with my lovely new wrapping paper!!!

To start planning for Valentines Day. I love this holiday with all my heart and over the years have done a lot of cliche/cheesy things. Which included but not limited to strategically placing rose petals on the ceiling fan blades which showered the first person to turn the switch. Buying Starburst candy and only picking out the red and pink ones; which are everybody's Fav including Scott. I've been waiting many years for this day to finally arrive. Now that its over I feel empty and free at the same time. No more test/group projects, no more camping out at the library, no more 40+ minute drives to school and most importantly no more stress. This past week Scott and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary!!! We took a quick trip to Tulsa and stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel. Check out the chocolate we found in our room ( it was the shape of a guitar) how cute is that. The room was Rockin!!! I wish we could have taken the whirlpool home with us. I guess my camera must have died cause I don't have any pics of the room, Bummer. .

So I made my goal, but it wasn't easy. Every day this week it rained and rained and even rained some more. My first random act was toward my fellow co-workers. I announced that it was teller appreciation day and brought ice cream treats for the whole crew. On Tuesday I left change in a vending machine and Wednesday I helped volunteer at the 2nd annual Night Out against crime. My last couple of acts were postponed till Saturday since I wasn't able to leave my items in the rain. I asked for help from my little brother to drop off a mum on someones porch and lastly a Target gift card was left on a windshield with a the tag above which read"Random Acts of Kindness. Smile . Pass it on." It felt good to leave these gifts. I wish I had more time to devote to volunteering...

A RAK-A-Day

This week I plan on doing a RAK-a-Day ... I'm a already off to a good start !!! Last night while making my drive back home I had the chance to pay for the vehicle behind me at the toll booth. The toll collector cheered up and it made my day as well . I have been recipient of one of these selfless acts before and know first hand how awesome it is to drive up and be told your fee has already been paid.

I have a couple ideas for RAks which I stole from other bloggers. Stay tuned to see if I meet my objective!

I have been recruited to help plan and decorate a co-workers baby shower. The color scheme will consist on orange, fuchsia and brown. These colors are not your traditional baby shower colors, but who says we have to be traditional. My good friend Tina will be helping me with the diaper cake. For centerpieces I will be using bud vases with orange and hot pink roses. I still have a few invitations to finish and let me tell you they are super cute. I really do think I've missed my calling as a party planner.

Marble Magnet Madness

Last year I made these cute little magnets for Christmas gifts and some of you asked for instructions so here goes...

Supplies:

glass marbles I bought mine at Michael's in the floral section

clear glue (E-600)

magnets found at any craft store or Wal-Mart

circle punch 3/4 not necessary

index print sheet

pointy scissors (for precision cutting around the glass marble)

**********************************************************

Next punch out your photos

Apply a small amount of glue to the flat side of the marble and press onto photo letting all air bubbles escape

Allow marbles to dry overnight or at least a few hours

After the glue has dried trim excess paper around the marble. After trimming place a small dot of glue on magnet and adhere the marble. Let the finished marble magnet dry overnight before using them.

Notice the guy hanging from the bridge, he was causing quite a scene. I think his friends talked him into jumping from the bridge into the river. Luckily he didn't get hurt from this stunt.

My vacation is officially over and classes start Monday .... guess I'll have to get back into routine of sleeping less.

Ascending Toward the Heavens

This past week I did something that many people thought I wouldn't be brave enough to do... ride in a hot air balloon. I wasn't scared at all even at times leaning over the edge of the basket to get a better picture of the scenery below. The ride was a bit pricey but it was soooo worth it. Our particular basket held up to 8 people including the crew. Loading into the basket was a chore for the last ones since the basket had already started lifting off of the ground. It was a smooth ride during the flight and even the landing wasn't so bad. I'm glad Scott decided to cast away his fears and join in on the fun.
